For the parts of which I hold copyrights, which are currently the minority, I grant you the use for personal, educational, or research purposes, but not for commercial use. If you use original material from this website, I would appreciate, but do not require, that you give proper credits. If in doubt about the ownership of some parts, feel free to contact me (a link is at the bottom).
First of all, this site is primarily a private homepage and does not claim to provide exhaustive information about the manuscript associated with the same name. If you are looking for authoritative information, I have to refer you to the site run by René Zandbergen (see below).
The site did not turn out as I originally envisioned, but that's not a bad thing. I was originally looking for an easy to remember domain name, but all my preferred choices were already taken, and so I settled for this one. Don't get me wrong - I myself got intrigued by the Voynich manuscript sometime in the early 80s and ever since tried to keep up with new developments. So I picked ms408 without further thinking, as the name seemed geeky enough.
But then it dawned on me, although the manuscript in question is primarily refererred to as the Voynich Manuscript, people in the know will have no problem associating ms408 with the manuscript as well and therefore might came across that site. So I realized that I should do something along the lines, especially after I figured out during the creation of this site that someone else already had a similar idea.
I just did not want to blindly repeat all the information already present at similar sites. Well, to a certain degree I do, but that is partly unavoidable for the given topic. So I came up with the concept that I change the way the material is usually presented, and that you have to do some active exploring yourself to get to the information collected here. For the most part this should actually be straight forward, as I only have so many possibilities to challange you. So this site is not primarily concerned with providing you with up-to-date information, but rather with the fun of exploring it.
But this should not mean that the presented information does not matter - on the contrary - it is an integral part. I've tried to be careful with the information I present, but that does not mean that something slipped my scrutiny. So, if you come across some actual blunder, please let me know, so that I can correct it.
And as I'm not a professional web designer, there might be some issues with this site, depending on your browser and device. The site is also not designed with mobile devices in mind, and this probably won't change in near future. I might however re-arrange some of the layout and how certain information is presented if the need arises and time allows. Also, I made certain deliberate design choices a professional web designer probably would disapprove, and I very well understand, that therefore the design will not appeal to everyone. I just want to mention, that in some of the pages you might stumble over hints, which you might find useful.
Just one more thing to mention - there are a lot of speculations surrounding the manuscript. If there are things that are vague, I try to present them in that way. Although I have my own opinions about some of the proposed solutions, I try not to judge them here. Eventually time will do the job - at least I hope so./p>
Have fun exploring!

The bulk of the information presented on this site is not my own, but without it, this site would not be possible. The presented information is taken from other websites, books, selected papers I actually made the effort to read myself, and the odd discussion platform found on the web. I will give explicit credits to my main sources below, but that does not mean that I do not acknowledge other sources for the credit they deserve. So please accept my apologies if I do not explicitly mention you here. However, if you really think that you deserve to be mentioned explicitly, please just contact me, and we'll sort it out, especially as I might have picked up certain information indirectly via some other source.
